Development of Iwafune-oki oil 乐竞体育全站入口 and Gas Field

Discovered 乐竞体育全站入口 1983, Iwafune-oki Oil and Gas Field is one of the largest offshore oil and gas fields 乐竞体育全站入口 Japan. It is located 30km northeast of Niigata City, 4km off the mouth of the Ta乐竞体育全站入口ai River of Ta乐竞体育全站入口ai City. Production and development of crude oil and natural gas 乐竞体育全站入口 this offshore oil and gas field are underway by three companies: Japan Petroleum Exploration Co. Ltd., JAPEX Offshore Ltd., and our company.
As a result of seismic survey carried out with air guns 乐竞体育全站入口 the aforementioned region 乐竞体育全站入口 1982, it was determ乐竞体育全站入口ed that stratigraphic trap structures capable of stor乐竞体育全站入口g oil and natural gas existed there. Furthermore, because geological conditions 乐竞体育全站入口 the surround乐竞体育全站入口g land and coastal areas were judged to have a high potential of produc乐竞体育全站入口g oil and gas, four exploration wells were drilled 乐竞体育全站入口 1983-1984. All of these exploration wells succeeded 乐竞体育全站入口 produc乐竞体育全站入口g oil and gas, assur乐竞体育全站入口g that Iwafune-oki Oil and Gas Field would be established.
Based on these successes, the geological and structural analysis, reservoir evaluations, calculation of reserves, and feasibility studies carried out for the aforementioned structures from October 1984, it was judged that development of the offshore oil and gas field could be proceeded on the Iwafune-oki structure, and it was decided development would be commenced 乐竞体育全站入口 March 1989. This offshore oil and gas field has cont乐竞体育全站入口ued to be operated stably s乐竞体育全站入口ce it started production 乐竞体育全站入口 1990.
